Retta Brown Elementary School will have its annual Christmas program at 5:30 pm. in the El Dorado High School Theater.

Thursday

Santa Claus is coming to town on the Big Red Fire Truck in the El Dorado Christmas

Parade. “A Christmas Through the Ages” parade will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature beauty queens, antique cars, floats and more.

The procession will begin at the intersecti­on of 18th Street and North West Avenue. The parade will then proceed along North West to the downtown area and will end at Jefferson and Peach streets.

Friday

The Junction City High School Student Council will present the 2017 Christmas Follies. JCHS Follies start at 9 a.m. and Elementary Follies will start at 1 p.m.

The curtain will go up for “Rudolph’s

Reindeer Wrangler Review,” the holiday musical comedy about a missing Santa in bad weather, at 7:30 p.m. at the South Arkansas Arts Center.

El Dorado’s own Gimme A Second improv group, Barton Junior High’s MP3 group and the West Side Christian School Choir will also be participat­ing.

The box office is open for tickets. Open seating tickets are $5 for students, $10 for SAAC members and $20 for general public.

Saturday

HOPE Landing’s board and staff will host the annual Christmas on the Ranch, a two-hour open house where community members can share the Spirit of Christmas from 1-3 p.m. at 214 Hope Landing.

There will be two performanc­es of “Rudolph’s Reindeer Wrangler Review,” at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the South Arkansas Arts Center.

Sunday

The Smackover High School choir and band will perform during the school’s annual Christmas Concert at 3 p.m. in the Hobgood Auditorium.

Dec. 11

Smackover-Norphlet choirs and band will perform at the Norphlet Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Family Life Center.

The ceremony will mark the announceme­nt of “Citizen of the Year.” The program will start at 6:30 p.m. and refreshmen­ts will be provided.

Dec. 12

Washington Middle School will be celebratin­g with its “Sounds for the Holidays” musical performanc­e at 6 p.m. in the WMS gymnasium.

The band, orchestra and musical production classes will be performing. The public is invited to attend. Junction City Elementary grades two and three will present “Christmas at the O.K. Corral” at 6:30 p.m. in the Multipurpo­se Building.

Dec. 14

HOPE Landing, Inc. and the South Arkansas Arts Center are proud to present “The Nativity,” the story of Christ’s birth being

portrayed by the children of HOPE Landing, and Gallery of HOPE at 7 p.m. at the South Arkansas Arts Center. Admission is free to the public, but donations will be appreciate­d.

Dec. 15 Smackover High School will host its Christmas assembly at 10 a.m. in the Hobgood Auditorium.

Dec. 16

The Calion Christmas parade will be held at 1 p.m. The parade is open to all and there is no entry fee required. Lineup will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the north end of Mill Street. For more informatio­n, call 870-748-2564.

The South Arkansas Symphony Christmas Pops Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium.

The concert will feature soprano Haley Greer,

baritone Greg Pearson, more than 120 singers from high school choirs in El Dorado, Smackover, Magnolia, Camden and Minden, Louisiana and the First United Methodist Church Bell Choir.

Tickets are $40 for premium seating and $15-30 for general admission.

Reserve tickets are on sale for $35.
