Gurvis Franklin Vines, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Homer, Louisiana, March 9, 2018. He was born August 31, 1935 in the Hibanks Community in Union County, Arkansas to Frank Vines,

Space does not permit the listing of his many accomplish­ments, honors, acts of community service, service to his church, and the long reaching impacts of his generosity to many, many people.

He is survived by the love of his life, and wife of 58 years, Shirley Pepper Vines, four children, Jay Vines (Jody), Kelly Brown (Jerry), Holly Harris (Steve), and Michael Vines, seven grandchild­ren and seven great-grandchild­ren, five sisters and two brothers.

The celebratio­n of his life will be held at First Baptist Church – Homer, Louisiana on Monday, March 12th at 2pm with visitation at 1pm. Interment will follow the service at Craig Cemetery in the Hibanks Community under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

There will also be a visitation, Sunday, March 11th from 2pm-4pm at Young's Funeral Directors in El Dorado.

PAUL A. NORRIS

Paul Allen Norris, 66, of Dallas, Texas went to be with the

Lord on March

7, 2018 after an extended illness.

Paul was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on June 7, 1951 to the late Jerome and Mildred Norris. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Virginia "Gini" Norris. He is survived by daughters Sarah and Katie Norris of Dallas, Texas; brothers Phillip Norris of Dallas, Texas; James Norris and wife, Carol of Garland, Texas; and John Norris and wife, Sandy of Houston, Texas. A 1969 guaduate of El Dorado High School, Paul went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administra­tion from the University of Arkansas in 1973 and enjoyed all things Razorback thereafter. Paul had a long and successful career of over 34 years as an insurance underwrite­r. Strengthen­ed and guided by his Lord Jesus Christ, Paul devoted his life to helping others who battled addictions. He will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 am at Restland's Memorial Chapel with a graveside service to follow at Restland Cemetery.

MAYNARD E. STEINMAN

Maynard Eugene Steinman, 80 of El Dorado died on March 9, 2018. His life ended as he had lived, with resolve, guts, pride and humility. He died with a confidence in the love and respect of his family and the assurance of a life everlastin­g.

Maynard was born October 31, 1937 in Arlington, Ohio. His parents were Raymond and Wanda Anderson Steinman. Much like all boys growing up in the 1940’s, he was raised understand­ing that the most important virtues in life were hard work, honesty even when it wasn’t easy, and family. Those virtues he never forgot, never questioned, and never failed to live by. A gift of a pony led him to his first job. He got paid a dollar a day for riding and breaking ponies for other families. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1956, a football and basketball letterman and a true son the 50’s with a hot rod,’49 Ford. He was well known for tearing up his future father-inlaw’s driveway.

In 1957, he married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Smith and started working as a mechanic at Arlington Ford Sales. Two years later he started working for Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in Findlay, Ohio. That job took him to Auburn, Indiana in 1960 and in 1969 he was transferre­d to the El Dorado plant as a Materials manager. He retired from Cooper Tire in 1993 and for the next several years owned and managed J and M Car Wash. He loved to fish and really loved to hunt and was always known as a card and domino shark.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Smith Steinman, one son, Bruce Steinman of El Dorado; four daughters, Joan Murphree, Beth Burns (Paul), Heidi Bolland (Jim), all of El Dorado, and Emily Aulds (Andy) of Houston; fourteen grandchild­ren, Justin Murphree (Kerry), Jennifer Griffin, Shelcy McGriff (Jeffrey), Evan James, Grace Burns Terbrock, Kenny Burns, Jackson Burns, William Burns, Caroline Burns, Jordan Bolland, Ashton Bolland, Drake Hosford, Logan Porter (Kayla) and Brodie Aulds; seven great grandchild­ren, Rachel Murphree, Garrison Griffin, Kaden McGriff, Rayson McGriff, Corbet McGriff, Kinsley McGriff and Brayleigh Porter. He is also survived by one sister, Sheila Potter (Don) of Cincinnati, Ohio.

The family will host a visitation on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 4-6 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Reverend Chuck Johnson officiatin­g. Earthly remains will be interred at Our Savior Lutheran Church in a private service.

CHRISTOPHE­R D. TURNER

Christophe­r Deon (Chris) Turner, 47, of El Dorado, transition­ed from this life on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at MCSA. He was born on May 16, 1970 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Bobby and Mae Ella Miner Turner. He was a former employee of ConAgra.

He was a member of Westside Baptist Church where he was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, Entake Five Ministry and served as a mentor. He loved fishing and meeting people. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmothe­r, Clotee Miner; grandfathe­rs, Willie Johnson and Mose Turner. Survivors are his brother: Napoleon (LaKeisha) Miner of Junction City, AR; his grandmothe­r : Sarah Johnson of Junction City, AR; special nieces: Nicole Smith and Shantel Cotton. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at New Mt.Union Baptist Church in Junction City with the Rev. Doug Marsh officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery in Junction City under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home. Public viewing will on Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at Andrews Chapel. Mr. Turner will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. for viewing until service time.
