Lady Bucks take on Warren Lumberjacks.
WARREN - Smackover had 12 hits, including three home runs Tuesday as the Lady Bucks mashed Warren 10-0 and improved to 11-5 on the season.
Abby Crawford hurled a four-hit shutout and hit a solo homer. Reagan Richardson drove in four runs, including a three-run home run. Lydia Pullin was 2-for-2 with a three-run homer.
“We really hit the ball well,” said Smackover coach Dennis Steele. “We hit the ball hard and against a pretty good pitcher. I was really happy with the way we hit the ball.
“Abby’s pitching was superb.
She really pitched well.” Crawford struck out 10 batters and walked just two in five innings. The junior struck out the side in the first, one in the second, two in the third, two in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Smackover scored four runs in the first. Sabrina Estridge and Karli Goocher both singled ahead of Richardson’s three-run homer.
Her fourth of the season.
“I think that home run was probably 300 feet,” said Steele. “It was a shot.”
Crawford followed with a solo homer.
The Lady Bucks scored one in the second. Goocher walked and scored on Richardson’s RBI double. In the third, Pullin singled, was sacrificed to second by Vanessa Lofton, went to third on a passed ball and scored on a single by Megan Mullin.
Smackover tacked on four more runs in the fourth. Estridge walked before Crawford stroked a two-out, RBI single. Lexi Gilbert singled ahead of Pullin’s three-run home run. Goocher, Richardson, Crawford, Pullin and Mullin had two hits apiece.
Smackover travels
to McGhee next Tuesday.
TAYLOR 11, PARKERS CHAPEL 1
PARKERS CHAPEL Taylor scored four runs in the first inning en route to collecting a win on the road in Class 1A-2A District 15 play.
Savannah Slaughter went 2-for-2 with an RBI for the Lady Trojans (5-6, 2-2), who scored their lone run in the third inning.
Kenlee McAuliffe drew a walk and scored on a double by Slaughter.
Drue Thomas allowed nine hits and four earned runs in taking the loss. She walked three and struck out five.
