WILLIAM D. MYERS SR.

William D. Myers, Sr., 93, of Austin, Texas and formerly of El Dorado passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his daughter and son-in-law’s residence.

Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Young’s Chapel in El Dorado with the Rev. Bob Inmon officiatin­g. Interment will follow at noon in Smyma Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

MELBA R. PUGH

Funeral for Melba Ruth Pugh, 93, of El Dorado will be held at 11 a.m. today at Young’s Chapel with Terry Ware officiatin­g. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sycamore Grove Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

JAMES WILLIAMS

James “Sambo” Williams, 70, of El Dorado passed away on March 23, 2018.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Evergreen Internatio­nal Ministries in El Dorado. Burial will be in Lott Burgy Cemetery in El Dorado.

Paradise Funeral Home of Bernice, Louisiana, is in charge of arrangemen­ts.

SHIRLEY W. LAMBERT

Shirley Ware Lambert, 73, of Hampton, died Sunday, March 25, 2018 in Ft. Worth, Texas. She was born Nov. 11, 1944 in Fort Worth to the late Ray and Ozelle Garner Ware. She was also preceded in death by her husband Gene Lambert.

She is survived by her son William “Bill” (Mearlene) Ball of Genoa; her daughter Marina (John) Henry of Hampton; her grandchild Morgan Echols of Genoa.

Shirley was retired from Smackover State Bank after many years of service to the El Dorado Community. She was the former secretary, Sunday school teacher and singer at Antioch Baptist Church for more than thirty years. She had a deep love for her church family.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Antioch Baptist Church of Hampton. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfune­ralhome.net.

WILLIE MARTINEZ

Willie J. Martinez age 80 of Old Union, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. Willie was born on June 23, 1937 in Benson, LA the late Ella Hendricks Martinez and Henry Martinez. Willie was a jack of all trades and a master of none, as he often referred to himself. He never met a stranger and could fix anything with a motor, especially if it was a vehicle. Willie was especially proud of his native Choctaw and Apache Indian Heritage. He was an avid pool player and was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and one sister.

Survivors include; his wife of 47 years, Billie J. Martinez of Old Union; five daughters, Cheryl Martinez of El Dorado, Windy Stovall and husband Carl of El Dorado, Tammy Martinez, Martha Martinez and Phyllis Tobola all of Texas; one son, John Martinez of Old Union; three grandsons, Joe Scroggins and fiancé Amber Gee, Kyle Taylor and fiancé Kaitlyn Messer and Cameron Martinez; four granddaugh­ters, Jenny Jones, Holly Joiner, Isabella Martinez and Madison Martinez; one great grandson, Jade Taylor; one sister, Liz Roberts of Bethany, TX; one brother, Franklin Chester of Lumberton, TX; special friend, Toby Johnson along with numerous other grandchild­ren, nieces, nephews and friends.

A private family memorial service and burial will take place at a later date. Cremation services were provided by Bailey Funeral Home.
