Obituaries SUSAN G. MURPHY

Susan Gwen Murphy, 69, of Duncanvill­e, TX entered heavens gates on June 27, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer. Born on June 17, 1949 in Nüremberg, Germany, she was the second child and oldest daughter of (Captain) Wallace & Burle (Nutt) Murphy.

She was a 1970 graduate of El Dorado High School and a lifelong Presbyteri­an. She spent her adult life caring for the young children of numerous families as well as her aging mother.

She is survived by brother, Paul (Linda) of Kemp, TX and sister Anna Duncanvill­e, TX, as well as niece Keri Murphy Peacock(Donny) Grand Prairie, TX ; nephew, Terry Murphy(Mandy), The Colony, TX; great niece, Heather Garcia (Osvaldo), Arlington, TX; great nephew, Nicholas Peacock, Duncanvill­e, TX and Great-great niece, Charlotte Garcia.

LAWRENCE M. ROWLAND SR.

Lawrence Miles Rowland, Sr. (Larry) 77, passed away on July 27, 2018. Larry was born on December 31, 1940 in El Dorado, AR and was a current resident of Prairievil­le, LA.

Larry retired from working as a Plant Manager from chemical plants after over 30 years of employment. He proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Pine Island and was honorable discharge. Larry was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church and the Parker/Womack Adult Bible Fellowship in Baton Rouge, LA. He attended Southern State College in Magnolia, AR and graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge, LA.

Larry enjoyed watching and attending all sports games especially LSU baseball and football. He was a true animal lover and found great joy in his beloved dogs, Batman and Robin. Larry had a witty sense of humor and loved to make his family laugh at his story telling. He felt blessed in his final years by the love from his church family at Istrouma Baptist and Pastor Ginn.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Woodrow and Lamar Reynolds Rowland, brother James Rowland, grandsons, Bryant Kite and Skyler Rowland.

He is survived by his wife, Glenna Boykin Rowland, of 57 years and son, Larry Rowland Jr., daughter, Cherie Rickard, son-in-law Wendell Rickard, and daughter, Carla Vickers; Grandchild­ren, Kristina Bovia and her husband Trey, Holden Vickers, Carson Rickard, Josh Rowland, Shelby Rowland, and great granddaugh­ter, Roxanne Bovia.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and therapists as well Clarity Hospice Care from Baton Rouge for their assistance and loving care.

Visitation at Youngs Funeral Directors will be from 10 am to 11 am, Monday, July 30, 2018 followed by funeral services in the Chapel with Rev. Brian Trostle officiatin­g. Military honors at Rest Haven Memorial Garden.

MARY J. SNOW

Mary Jayne Snow, 71, of El Dorado, passed away, Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Baptist Medical Health Center in Little Rock. She was born September 11, 1946, to Raleigh Junior and Melba Thedford Newell.

She attended Draughn College in Wichita Falls, TX, and worked as a home health aide for Comfort Keepers and Walgreens.

Jayne enjoyed cooking and painting ceramics.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Stacy Jayne Snow; and son, Gregory Allen Snow.

Survivors include her son, Christophe­r Shea Snow and wife Billie of Memphis, TN; two sisters, Judy McMahan and Janice Ford and husband Michael; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Sye Duke officiatin­g. Cremation arrangemen­ts were entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
