• Cedric L. Ford, 41, of 2525 N. College Ave., was arrested July 26 on a warrant for probation revocation.

• Christophe­r K. Bailey, 29, of 2623 Deer Crossing, was arrested July 25 for aggravated assault on a family or household member and third-degree domestic battering. Officers were called to Medical Center of South Arkansas in reference to an assault and upon arrival, they spoke with a woman who said her husband, Bailey, had beaten her. Police said the woman’s left ear was swollen, her right thigh was bruised, there were scrapes on her elbows and her neck was red. She said Bailey struck her numerous times and kicked her in the head. Police said they located Bailey at the Deer Crossing residence and took him into custody.

• A man told police July 26 that his ex-girlfriend issued a terroristi­c threat against him, saying that she was going to “burn your house while you are sleeping.”

• A woman told police July 24 that someone stole her vehicle, a black Hyundai Sonata, from the parking lot in the area of Cedar and Jefferson. The woman said she left the engine running while she briefly went inside a nearby business. She said the vehicle was gone when she came out, and about an hour later, approximat­ely 11:15 p.m., she saw the vehicle speeding west on Cedar. Moments later, the vehicle turned onto Jackson, just south of Main. She said the suspect turned off the headlights, and she ran toward the vehicle, crossing the parking lot in the area of Cedar and Hill. She said when the suspect saw her running toward the vehicle, he ran north toward Main and left the engine running. The woman said $121 cash was missing from the car.

• Police responded July 23 to a report of a disturbanc­e in the 1600 block of Short East Hillsboro, and upon arrival they spoke with a woman whose right eye was swollen and her shirt torn. The woman told officers that she and her child’s father had gotten into a physical altercatio­n, during which he choked her. She said leaned forward, causing the suspect to flip over her back, and he sustained a carpet burn to the forehead. The woman said the altercatio­n continued, and when she fell to the floor, the suspect placed his left foot on her face, causing her right eye to swell. She said he then gathered his belongings and left the residence before officers arrived.
