Food Service Inspection

NOTE: Any violations reported in an inspection may have been corrected before time of publication.

The Food Protection Program of the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) inspects all food establishments in the state to make sure they follow ADH Food Establishment Rules & Regulations.

Arkansas’ Health Department’s inspections are conducted 1 to 3 times per year depending upon the Risk Category of the establishment. Additional inspections occur to follow-up on violations and when the ADH receives a complaint.

The regulations are written to ensure food is prepared, stored, and served safely, which in turn may prevent food-borne illness.

From the Inspection Report, you can see if the establishment is following the food safety regulations.

Remember this inspection is only a snapshot in time. It represents only what the inspector saw on the particular date of inspection.

It is also important to remember that if problems were found during the inspection, the person in charge is shown what changes are needed to ensure safety.

This week’s noted inspections in Union County:

Buffet Palace Chinese, 2740 N. West Ave., El Dorado, no violations.

La Villa Mexican Restaurant, 2640 N. West Ave., El Dorado, no violations.

Little Brother Mexican Restaurant, 1718 N. West Ave., El Dorado, no violations.

The Griffin LLC Concession, 101 E. Locust St., El Dorado, no violations.

The Griffin LLC Restaurant, 101 E. Locust St., El Dorado, no violations.

Black Cat Cafe, 117 E. Main, El Dorado, must wash hands any time contamination could have occurred, when changing tasks, after handling soiled equipment or utensils; prior to glove use; during food preparation, as often as necessary to remove soil and contamination and to prevent cross contamination when changing tasks; when switching between working with raw food and working with ready to eat foods. Except during preparation, cooking, cooling, or when time is used, potentially hazardous food shall be maintained at 41 degrees Fahrenheit or less. Items checked in the middle refrigerator were temping out of cold hold compliance. Maybe due to door was not all the way closed when I walked into the kitchen area. Advised the owner to make employees more aware of when they close the doors on this unit to make sure that they close completely. There is no other cold holding unit to move the items stored in this unit; so advised the owner to keep an eye on this unit and in the morning to check its temperature to make sure that it is able to hold and maintain cold holding standards.

The Olde Towne Store, 113 N. Jefferson Ave., El Dorado, the sandwich prep table is out of cold hold compliance; water temperature read 56 degrees Fahrenheit. All food products have been removed from the unit; the owner called local HVAC company this morning to come look at the unit.
