Obituaries RICHARD V. WARNER
Richard Vance (R. V.) Warner died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, in Warren. He was born May 23, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late W. R. Warner and Cecelia Morin Warner. He received his education in the Warren Public School System, was a graduate of William and Mary College with a degree in Business Administration and from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville with a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
R. V. served in the U. S. Air Force. He joined Potlatch Corp in 1953; was promoted VicePresident of the Southern Division and in 1979 was named Vice-President of Potlatch Corporation Wood Products Group with office based in San Francisco, California retiring in 1990. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Warren Country Club and the Donald W. Reynolds YMCA. An avid golfer, Warner, also, enjoyed training his bird dogs and deep sea fishing.
Surviving is his wife of 38 years Betty Anne Hemphill Ederington Warner; one son William Richard “Rick” Warner, III and wife Phyllis, Warren; daughter Kathy Warner Murphy, West Memphis; two step daughters Lou Anne Anderson and husband District Judge Bruce, Warren, and Mary Lynn Richardson, Erie Colorado; grandchildren, Adam Warner, Warren, Arkansas, Patrick Murphy, Lantana, Florida, Celia McGilvray and husband Drew, Little Rock, Jase Richardson, Denver, Colorado and Aaron Richardson, Erie, Colorado. Great grandchildren, Warner Ledbetter, Vance Warner and Murphy McGilvray. He was also preceded in death by a wife Shirley Daugherty Warner; a sister Jane Warner Atkins, a brother W. R. Warner, Jr. and two grandchildren Taylor Warner and Erin Warner Ledbetter.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 in Oakland Cemetery with Flag presentation ceremony. Memorials preferred Donald W. THOMAS A. WHITWORTH
The Rev. Thomas A. Whitworth, 75, of Junction City; died on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018 at Life Touch Hospice’s John R. Williamson Hospice House.
Born on July 8, 1943 in Dallas, Texas; Tom was the son of Roy T. and Ophelia Roberts Whitworth. Tom was active in SAAC appearing in several productions and The Civitan Club. Tom served as pastor of The First Christian
Church in El Dorado several years.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and a son Daniel W. Whitworth and a great grandson Daniel Isaac Whitworth.
Survivors are his wife of 17 years Dr. Rebecca A. Luper, children are Erin D. Whitworth of Bentonville, Sean M. Whitworth (April) of Junction City, Jessica A McCall of Little Rock, Wyatt Whitworth and Dakota Baker (Kelli) both of Hot Springs; along with seven grandchildren Michael Whitworth, Danelle Hill, Autumn Morgan, Lydia Whitworth, Bridget for McCall, Lucas and Liam Baker and two great grandchildren Audrey and Mikaela Whitworth.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 at Young’s Funeral Directors with services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, with the Rev. Bob Parks and the Rev. Bob Inmon officiating. Burial will follow at Colony Cemetery in Alba, Texas at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
