Michael was born at St. Anthony Hospital, OK City, OK on Sept. 18, 1951 to Gladys and Edward Johnson. He was a 1969 graduate of Fox High School and graduated from ECSU in 1973 with a BA in Industrial Arts and Geography. On June 30, 1979 he was united in marriage to Cathy Lyn Garrett. To this union was born one daughter, Pepper D. Johnson. The couple set about teaching Pepper about love and life. Michael is remembered as a kind, playful and loving Father who encouraged her to pursue her goals.

Michael was an accomplish­ed businessma­n/salesman for his business, J-Sport. He was a dedicated individual who loved sports, but especially OU and LA Tech football, and who was passionate about seeing his grandsons participat­e in sports. He loved going to watch them play and cheer them on. In previous years he accepted Jesus as his Savior at 6 years of age. He was an active and dedicated church member.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, grandparen­ts and aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his mother, Gladys Johnson, of Velma, OK, his wife, Cathy Lyn Johnson, of Haynesvill­e, LA, daughter, Pepper and husband, Jason Lyon, two grandsons William and Elijah Lyon of

Sterlingto­n, LA, one brother, Keith and wife, Nina Johnson of Velma, OK, one nephew Jason Johnson of OK City, OK and a host of extended family.

NORA J. RUSSELL

Nora Jean “Memaw” Russell, 63, of El Dorado, AR passed Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at her home.

Nora was born January

20, 1955 in Huttig, AR to the union of Joseph

L. Lancaster and Orell

Connor Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin brother, Larry Lancaster and a sister,

Mary Whitten.

Nora loved her family, especially her children and grandchild­ren. She was an avid Razorback, New Orleans Saints and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Nora will be remembered as a Christian lady.

Survivors include her daughter, Amy Sullivan and husband Kevin, one son, Aaron Russell, one sister, Jo Ann Whitten and husband Jimi, her soulmate, Marcus Russell, two grandchild­ren, Jared Taylor and Brien Sullivan, Jr., Aunt, Kathleen Willis and two special cousins, Louise Seymore and husband James and Joyce Upshaw, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 at Bailey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 in the Chapel of Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado, AR.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
