Nor­phlet City Hall to be closed Mon­day

Nor­phlet City Hall will be closed Mon­day in ob­ser­vance of the Vet­er­ans Day hol­i­day. Pay­ments for En­tergy, Nor­phlet Wa­ter and Cen­ter­point can be put in the drop box in Mayor Jim Crotty’s of­fice door. Nor­mal hours will re­sume at 8:30 a.m. Tues­day.

JCPen­ney to host free Nick­elodeon event Satur­day

Par­ents and chil­dren are in­vited to the lo­cal JCPen­ney in­side the Mel­lor Park Mall on Satur­day to par­tic­i­pate in a Nick­elodeon event fea­tur­ing col­or­ing packs, stick­ers and Rise of the Teenage Mu­tant Ninja Tur­tles comic books.

The event, part of the store’s monthly Kids Zone work­shops, is free and will take place from 11 a.m. noon Satur­day. All chil­dren must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult. The work­shop will be sta­tioned next to the toy shop in­side the store.

In De­cem­ber, the store’s work­shop, set for Dec. 8, will fea­ture cre­at­ing a Nerf tar­get, while the Jan. 12 work­shop will fea­ture dec­o­rat­ing a 2019 cal­en­dar.

Ad­vance sign up is not re­quired and chil­dren re­ceive a col­lectible pin for ev­ery project they fin­ish.
