EHS fresh­man teams pick up vic­to­ries

El Do­rado’s fresh­man girls bas­ket­ball team opened its sea­son Thurs­day night with a 43-29 win over Pine Bluff.

Destiny Davis led the Lady Wild­cats with 14 points, while Kalese Moseby had nine points and Carshila Rozier fin­ished with eight points.


El Do­rado’s fresh­man boys bas­ket­ball team won its sec­ond straight game to start the sea­son by top­ping Cam­den Fairview 39-23 Thurs­day night to ad­vance to the fi­nals of the El Do­rado ninth-grade tour­na­ment.

Day­lon Wil­bourn led a bal­anced at­tack with 10 points for the Wild­cats (2-0).

David Aryee had nine points for El Do­rado, who led 13-6 at the end of the first quar­ter be­fore pitch­ing a shutout to lead 21-6 at in­ter­mis­sion.

El Do­rado led 31-16 af­ter three pe­ri­ods of play be­fore win­ning by the fi­nal mar­gin.

Knolej White and Jor­dan Miller had six points apiece for the Wild­cats, who will play at 4:15 p.m. to­day in the fi­nals.


Bar­ton’s eighth-grade girls bas­ket­ball team ad­vanced at the El Do­rado ninth-grade tour­na­ment with a 34-21 win over Cam­den Fairview Thurs­day.

Char­a­lyn Rester had 14 points and Lind­sey Lock­hart was also in dou­ble fig­ures with 10 points.

Mar­leigh Bon­sall had six points for Bar­ton (2-0).

The win sends the Lady Wild­kit­tens to the fi­nals at 3 p.m. to­day.
