Christ­mas Flotilla to float down Oua­chita River

Event at Moro Bay set for dusk to­day

A new event is head­ing to the Oua­chita River - a Christ­mas Flotilla.

At dusk tonight, un­less there is heavy rain, peo­ple can gather around the banks of the river at Moro Bay State Park and watch a pa­rade of boats dec­o­rated and lit up as they float down the river.

The free event will be judged by of­fi­cials from from the area, in­clud­ing Union County Judge Mike Loftin, Bradley County Judge Klay McKin­ney, El Do­radoUnion County Cham­ber of Com­merce Pres­i­dent Mike Du­mas and the mayor-elect of War­ren, Denisa Pen­ning­ton. The judge’s ta­ble will be lo­cated on the ma­rina at the park, and there will be hot cho­co­late avail­able to any­one in at­ten­dance.

The event is set for 5-7 p.m.
