Christmas Flotilla to float down Ouachita River

Event at Moro Bay set for dusk today

A new event is heading to the Ouachita River - a Christmas Flotilla.

At dusk tonight, unless there is heavy rain, people can gather around the banks of the river at Moro Bay State Park and watch a parade of boats decorated and lit up as they float down the river.

The free event will be judged by officials from from the area, including Union County Judge Mike Loftin, Bradley County Judge Klay McKinney, El DoradoUnio­n County Chamber of Commerce President Mike Dumas and the mayor-elect of Warren, Denisa Pennington. The judge’s table will be located on the marina at the park, and there will be hot chocolate available to anyone in attendance.

The event is set for 5-7 p.m.
