To the Editor,

I just had lunch today with a friend at El Dorado’s biggest traffic jam – Sonic. I grew up in Los Angeles and felt that “In-N-Out” made the best burgers in the land. Every burger was great and they never made a mistake on my order. But looking back, all “In-N-Out” served was cokes, burgers and fries.

Sonic, on the other hand, has a huge menu. And every time I’ve stopped at our El Dorado Sonic, they have never screwed up my order. Not once, ever. Can’t say that anywhere else.

I am amazed that this El Dorado Sonic has been for years, not just #1 in Union County, or in Arkansas, or in the south, or even west of the Mississippi – but #1 in the entire country. Unbelievable. I just had to go in and tell the manager that I was impressed with his establishment. Restaurant managers usually only hear complaints. Manager Todd Henry smiled and confessed, they’re #3 in the country this year.

This is not a commercial. He just said thanks – and got back to work. In Houston, Los Angeles or even Little Rock, being best in the country may not surprise us. But it is remarkable to me that we have such a superlative operation right here in our small town. I just have to say it - Dude!
