El Do Artist Cindy Snelson to host Corks and Canvas Aug. 15 at SAAC.
The South Arkansas Arts Center is pleased to announce another fun-filled evening of painting and libations on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 6-9 p.m. Share some laughs, re-connect and re-charge! And at the end of the night you’ll have a memento - a unique piece of art to remind you of a fabulous night out. From the newbie to the seasoned painter, these painting classes have something for everyone! Corks and Canvas is an art class for non-artists who have always wanted to paint. The instructor takes the class through the step by step process to complete a work of art in three hours.
Leading the class on Aug. 15 will be El Dorado resident and artist, Cindy Snelson. Snelson has been a lifelong crafter and artist, dabbling in stained glass, quilting and painting. She was nominated for The Governor’s Honors, an art program in her home state of Georgia. Snelson said when asked about her love of art, “I am all about color!” Her choice of painting daisies that evening will reflect that love of color.
Cindy has hosted Corks and Canvas at SAAC many times with great reviews from the class participants. Minna Ulmer took her class and said, “Cindy is a wonderful teacher. She made the class fun and easy for us non-artists. She is very laid-back and makes it very ‘user friendly’. Cindy was very organized and had everything laid out for us- there was no way to mess it up! We all had a great time!”
Cost for the Corks and Canvas class is $40 and covers all supplies and snacks. Bring the beverage of your choice.
