Keep Arkansas Beautiful launches its annual youth poster statewide contest
LITTLE ROCK — The Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission (KAB) has opened entry for submissions for the annual Great American Cleanup in Arkansas Youth Poster Contest.
Elementary teachers for grades kindergarten through fifth grade are encouraged to enter at least one poster from their classroom that focuses on litter prevention, beautification and recycling efforts, litter-free communities, a combination of those. Youth groups such as 4-H, the Boys and Girls Club and Scouts are also welcomed to enter the annual poster contest.
"We are re-energizing our annual spring poster contest and hope to double the amount of entries during this year's contest," said Mark Camp, KAB executive director.
Entries to the poster contest can be submitted up to Feb. 29.
Posters will be judged in two divisions: Grades K-2 and Grades 3-5. Each entry must have the student's name, teacher's name and email address, and school contact information for consideration.

"The youth poster contest provides teachers the opportunity to integrate litter prevention, beautification and recycling topics into their curriculum," Camp said. "We hope this contest will be used as a tool to educate students about the impact of litter on our state and how students can protect our state's natural beauty."
