The Union County Genealogical Society will meet Sunday at 2 p.m. at Barton Library, the speaker will be Cherolynne Hanry speaking on her research of Holly Grove Church records for 1874 thru the 1950s. Though her research of these church records, she found the importance of preserving and transcribing old church records. She found out the history and genealogy old church records contain that will be important to people doing research. The records can be a great help in making family connections and also will be helpful to establish when people were moving in and out of the area. This information is important because it can fill in details for the years between census records.

She moved from AL to El Dorado in 2011 to take care of her mother until her mother’s death in 2016, She then started organizing and working on researching the Holly Grove Church records and researching the church members and their relationship.
