SAAC to host Musketeer Brunch

-

Co-chairmen Lynn Dwight and Caroline Callaway discuss plans for the French-themed fare at the Musketeer Brunch, hosted by SAAC Sunday, Feb. 23 in the Price and Merkle galleries, in conjunction with the upcoming production of “The Three Musketeers.”

The South Arkansas Arts Center invites the public to a Musketeer Brunch, sponsored by Murphy-Pitard Jewelers, Sunday, Feb. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Musketeer Brunch will be held in conjunction with the opening of “The Three Musketeers,” which will be live and on stage March 6-8 and 12-15.

The public is invited to get a taste of SAAC’s French brunch fare, prepared by some of El Dorado’s finest home cooks and chefs. The menu is decidedly French, with a definite southern flair, and includes local favorite shrimp and grits, as well as a classic French crepe station manned by chef Lilli Ellen and her students from South Arkansas Community College’s culinary program. Guests can pick their filling and the chefs will cook it up right there. A fruit and yogurt bar, mini sandwiches and pasta salad round out the menu. Champagne and mimosas will be available before brunch from the Box Office Bar.

Murphy-Pitard Jewelers will again sponsor the spring production and will raffle a gold and diamond encrusted fleur de lis necklace, in keeping with the French feel of “The Three Musketeers.” Murphy-Pitard will also host a pop-up shop with its curated jewelry collection during the brunch in the Price Gallery, with 10% of proceeds going to SAAC. Raffle tickets cost $20 each and can be purchased through the SAAC office, SAAC board members or at Murphy-Pitard Jewelers.

Tickets for the Musketeer Brunch cost $25 for adults and $10 for children and may be purchased at the SAAC office. For reservations or more information about the brunch or the production, call the SAAC office at 870-862-5474 or visit saac-arts.org.
