Two Union County standouts on the hardwood were rewarded for their outstanding seasons by earning All-State honors.

Parkers Chapel’s Terrell Malone was named to the 2A boys squad, while Strong’s Dynasty Davis was selected to the 1A girls team.

The Arkansas Activities Association released the teams earlier this week.

A senior, Malone was a member of the All-State Tournament team as a junior.

In his final year with the Trojans, Malone helped guide Parkers Chapel to the 8-2A regular season title with a 14-2 record.

He averaged 20 points per game, but also grabbed six rebounds per game. He dished out four assists and racked up four steals per game.

“Terrell is a hard-working kid,” said Parkers Chapel coach Josh Langley.

“He never missed a practice. He’s worked really, really hard. He’s a kid that’s going to play somewhere at the next level. These awards are long overdue for him.”

Davis graduates from Strong as one of the most decorated players in program history.

Davis, who averaged 22.4 points per game along with 3.1 assists per game this season, earned All-State honors for the second time after accomplishing the feat as a sophomore. She was also an All-State Tournament selection as a freshman and a sophomore.

Davis, who guided the Lady Bulldogs to a berth in the regional tournament, recently signed to play collegiately at South Arkansas Community College.

“I couldn’t be more proud of her making All-State,” Strong coach Jason Porter said. “She made it her sophomore year and I think she would have made it her junior year if it weren’t for her injury that made us hold her out until after Christmas. I’m just very happy for her.”
