Ancient Words: Last Days, Did the Pale Horse Just Circle the Earth?
When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. (Rev 6:7-8)
I looked up again, and there before me were four chariots coming out from between two mountains— mountains of bronze. The first chariot had red horses, the second black, the third white, and the fourth dappled—all of them powerful. I asked the angel who was speaking to me, “What are these, my lord?” The angel answered me, “These are the four spirits of heaven, going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world. The one with the black horses is going toward the north country, the one with the white horses toward the west, and the one with the dappled horses toward the south.” When the powerful horses went out, they were straining to go throughout the earth. And he said, “Go throughout the earth!” So they went throughout the earth. (Zec 6:18)
A plague has moved around the earth in a matter of days. From one single event in China, a virus, like a plague, has moved into hundreds of countries circling the world and leaving nations in perplexing amazement and bewilderment. Nations, trying to find out how to meet the challenge and stop the spread, is unprecedented. Thankfully, the death toll is very low (so far, this time around). But, has God, the author of plagues, sent the pale horse straining throughout the earth to accomplish the will of the One who sits on the throne? This event of coronavirus seems to be a wake-up call to the children of planet earth. Sports events, so important last month, are now canceled and now seem useless. Election primaries, anxiously predicting results, are being postponed and now seem unimportant. Public assemblies are now discouraged to a point where home is the only safe and ok place! Venues for wedding, funerals, church services cancelled, schools closed, travel restricted, “social distancing” (?)——-what is man to do!
The reaction by man has been something to view. Folks fighting over toilet paper, a man stabbed over bottled water, a mad rush by many to stock up on supplies. Many in the world are not fairing to well in their reaction to what seems to be a “warm-up drill” by God to let the earth know He is not pleased and that we are in the last days — the events of Revelation may be soon to follow, or, are the events happing now as a prelude?
Our “Last Days” are upon us according to God’s calendar—DTL— Divine Time Line. The Plague of Justinian in 500-700 AD killed up to 100 million (almost 1/2 of the earth) in Eastern Europe during 5 DTL. The Black Plague killed over 75 million in 1300’s—- over 1/2 of Europe during day 6 DTL. Spanish Flu infected 1/3 of earth and killed 100 million in 1900’s—6 DTL. Now in day 7 DTL—-2020— all people of the earth watch in awe as a virus envelope’s the entire world! Did the Pale Horse just circle the earth for a practice lap??—-(Or in Navy terms—has a shot just been fired over the bow??)
In the Ancient Words, this calls for “patient endurance” by the saints, but to everyone on the earth—- “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’” (Rev 22:17)
