Teachers will always influence students

- BY LAURA FAIRRIS Laura Fairris is a junior at El Dorado High School.

Teachers have a huge impact on student lives.

I am a student at El Dorado High School and so many teachers have impacted my life since I started school here in 5th grade.

Teachers say things that will live with students forever, and they will always be remembered for what they did to help their kids.

According to weareteachers.com, a teacher affects over 3,000 students on average, and 88% of people say that a teacher has left a positive impact on them.

The teachers at El Dorado High School do a ton to help students and encourage them. Some teachers post encouraging messages on Google Classroom, talk to kids and relate to them on what they’re going through.

At times, teachers are able to encourage students better than parents, and if a teacher tells me that I’m doing well in something, I am more likely to believe it than if it came from a parent.

We feel like we can trust teachers and be more upfront with them. We go to teachers to get things off our chest or for advice on what we should or shouldn’t do in certain situations.

In the school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the teachers at El Dorado High School have been there for students over and over. They have sent out emails and group alerts telling students when and where they can get food over this break if they do not have it at home and are open to having students email them if needed.

Teachers have a huge impact on the lives of their students, and they always will.
