ALMA LEE “AMY” HARRISON GOODWIN
Alma Lee “Amy” Harrison Goodwin age 83 of Calion, AR passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado. Amy was born on April 4, 1937 in Reydell, AR to the late Edith Jewel Browning Harrison and Benjamin Odell Harrison. Amy was raised in Gillett, AR and graduated from Gillett High School in 1955. Amy formerly worked for Calion Water Association, where she was affectionately known as the “Water Lady”, serving 15 years before her retirement in 2008. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Calion and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 48 years, Edward Lucus Goodwin; three brothers, Bill Harrison, Donnie Harrison, and Rusty Harrison.
Survivors include; one daughter, Julie Washburn and husband Tim of Springdale, AR; two sons, Bob Goodwin and wife Lisa of Hampton, and Joe Goodwin of Calion; five grandchildren, Nikki Porter and husband Jayson, Dylan Goodwin, Laura Helmick and husband Tyler, Nathan Washburn and Ross Washburn; two sisters, Janet Milligan and Vickie Estes; one brother, John Harrison, along with her special Caregiver and friend, Bonnie Warwick.
A private family graveside service was held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Bro. Mark Staples officiating and under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
The family suggested that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Calion, P.O. Box 338, Calion, AR 71724 or to Life Touch Hospice, 2301 Champagnolle Rd, El Dorado, AR 71730.
