HealthWorks Fitness implements changes to keep services available

- By Marvin Richards Staff Writer

A new kind of flexibility has become key to the business model of gyms and fitness centers amid the COVID-19 pandemic; with members constantly touching fitness equipment and being within close proximity to one another during fitness classes, gyms have had to find innovative ways to modify their day to day operations.

HealthWorks Fitness is no different. The fitness facility has recently rolled out a litany of changes they want the community and its members to know are in place to ensure the health and safety of everyone that utilizes their services.

“Our members have been very supportive and patient as we have introduced new phases. Opening in phases has allowed us to follow guidelines and keep employees and members safe,” Richard Reeves, Vice President of Community Health for the SHARE Foundation,

which HealthWorks is part of, said.

One of those new phases includes the KidWorks phase. KidsWorks is the gym’s childcare facility that watches the children of guests that are working out.

“Our members are excited to see KidWorks open. We have temporary guidelines that include one-hour reservations and a limited capacity of eight children at any given time. We want to keep our kids safe while their parents visit the gym,” Reeves explained.

These changes and KidWorks schedule can be found on the HealthWorks Fitness Center’s website.

Some of the other changes include the recent addition of a body temperature measurement kiosk.

“Adding the kiosk will help free up staff to better take care of members and guests’ needs. It will speed up and streamline the check in process,” Reeves said.

Members can also look forward to some upcoming health and safety features, as well as the gym’s continued phased reopening.

“We have the arrival of a Clorox 360 cleaning system. We will be disinfecting HFC (HealthWorks Fitness Center) several times a day with our Clorox 360 Electrostatic Sanitizing System. We will continue to add group fitness classes for our members and hope to add Sunday hours back to our facility schedule,” Reeves said.
