Pumpkin Day at MAD Farmers Market

The Murphy Arts District Farmers Market will be open today from 8 to 11 a.m. at the MAD Amphitheat­er. Pumpkin-based activities, including pumpkin painting and pumpkin tic-tac-toe will be available for children to participat­e in. There will also be a fall photo backdrop at the event. Coulter Mason will perform and Jenn Purinton will lead a yoga workshop, for which attendees should bring their own mat.

Vendors in attendance at this week’s market will be P&L Farms, Mike Senn Family Farm, JJ’s Baubles and Perfect Little Farm.

LifeShare Blood Center will also have a mobile donation unit on-site for a blood drive that will take place during the market.

Master Gardeners Bulb Sale today

The Union County Master Gardeners’ annual fall bulb sale will be held at the MAD Farmers Market at the MAD Amphitheat­er from 8 to 11 a.m. or until supplies run out. The bulbs for sale will include crocus, narcissus, hyacinths, iris, tulips, allium drumsticks, Spanish bluebells and anemone bulbs.

SAAC hosting virtual “Monsters, Inc” watch party

The South Arkansas Arts Center will host a virtual watch party today at 1 p.m. Mike Means will watch “Monsters, Inc” with those who join and share trivia about the movie.

The watch party is free to anyone with a Disney Plus subscripti­on. Those who attend are asked to download the My Disney Pal extension to participat­e in the chat with Means. The link to the watch party will be posted on SAAC’s Facebook page and website at 12:30 p.m.

Governor to speak about Issue 1 Monday

Governor Asa Hutchinson will speak Monday, Oct. 19 about ballot Issue 1 at the Murphy Arts District (MAD) Amphitheat­er pavilion at 2:30 p.m.
