LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
To the Editor:
When I ran for the position of Chair of the Union County Democrats, I knew there would be times that I would be required to speak up and speak out. I am not a contentious person by nature, however there are some very contentious things going on right now with the upcoming election. We have an Election Commission that makes decisions regarding our elections that affect each and every one of us and our ability to vote. The Democratic Party has only one of the three positions that make up that commission. And I feel it is my responsibility as the leader of the local Democratic Party to let it be known what is going on with your Election Commission. I have been working with our party’s elected representative trying to get some clarity on exactly how this election is going to proceed. The Union County Democratic Party, per the rules of our State, has less representation on the commission itself as well as in other areas of the process. The Republican Party gets two people to make decisions, we get one. When volunteers are chosen to work the polls and the ballot processing, the Republican Party gets more representation than the Democratic Party. I understand that is a State rule, and I accept that. What I do not and will not accept is the attempts made by the Election Commission, whether contrived or just due to ineptness, to hinder the selection, the training and the implementation of those representing the Democratic Party to this election. I have been met with stalling, misinformation and complete chaos in my attempts
get fair representation. I have attempted to get access to the minutes of the meetings held by the Commission for this entire year, and as I write this letter, I still do not have those minutes. The minutes are supposed to be filed with the County Courthouse and should be available for public review. The public has a right to know what our elected officials are doing on our behalf and whether or not YOUR constitutional right to VOTE is protected and done lawfully. I bring attention to this matter in hopes that some light will get shed on the subject. Is the Republican Party trying to suppress the vote in Union County? And if they are, why? Who is going to protect your right to vote? What does the Union County Democratic Party want to see happen? We want the fair representation that we are guaranteed under the law. We want everyone that is a registered citizen of Union County to be able to cast their vote.

As we are propelled into the upcoming election and decisions are being made by voters on who to vote for, it is hard to even recognize the America I grew up in. We were once a proud people, rooted in the belief that God, family, life, liberty, justice, freedom, and consideration for our fellowman was the American way of life.
America is broken and under siege by her enemies! We are now about to lose this Nation and the lives we hold dear. Over the past 100 years the gradual deterioration of a moral society is now revealing the results of a social justice and anarchist culture, dedicated to the destruction of America and transforming it and the people into a Communist Society!
Many people, watching what is happening in America today do not realize what has taken place and are experiencing fear, anger, doubt and uncertainty, as they look for answers and direction, in a time of Chaos which is creating a feeling of doom and despair. Powerful forces in our Government are taking advantage of the confusion, and Chaos; pushing an anarchist/ socialist agenda that is destructive to our Constitution and the Rule of Law.
Today we are a Nation in decline! God knew that it would take a man of strong character, who could not be deterred, bribed, threatened, or blackmailed by the attacks and adversity that he would face, in order to take this country back for the American people. I believe that God, much as he did Moses, chose Donald Trump for this time, place and work and he will not let him fail!
Donald Trump did not create or cause the conditions we have in America today, but he has faced them head on and set a determined and steady course for this Nation to succeed. He has worked, with the help of many Conservative Senators and Congressmen, to remake the Republican Party into a cohesive and dedicated body, with respect to “We the People”.
Together, they have laid a good foundation to return America back to a Free, Moral and Godly society, but they need 4 more years in order to complete the task set before them. Lets’ reelect Donald Trump and return the Senate and House to the Republicans, so they can finish the work they have started.
