Smackover falls at Camden Fairview

CAMDEN - Smackover jumped out to a pair of big leads, but couldn't hang on, as the Bucks fell at Camden Fairview 10-9 on Monday.

The Bucks (10-4), who lost their second straight after winning 10 in a row, scored five runs in the first to take a 5-0 lead, but the Cardinals answered with four in the bottom half of the frame to make it 5-4.

The Bucks padded their lead with three runs in the second to make it 8-4, but again, the Cardinals rallied.

Camden Fairview scored one run in the third and three in the fourth to tie the game at 8-all before scoring twice in the fifth to take the lead for good.

Chase Brumley went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs for the Bucks, who had 10 hits in the game from eight different players.

Tanner Mitchell also had a multihit game, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Britton Warren and Landon Wallingsford joined Brumley with two RBIs in the game.

Bailey Rivers went 1-for-3 with an RBI with Sawyer Cropper and Jacob Eubanks joining Warren and Wallingsford with one hit apiece in the contest.

Eubanks had a triple and Cropper had a double to account for their hits.

Brumley took the loss on the mound, allowing three hits and two runs in two innings out of the bullpen. He walked one and didn't record any strikeouts.

Eubanks surrendered eight hits and eight runs with seven being earned in four innings of work.

He walked three and struck out three.

Smackover will be back in action on Thursday when they host Lake Village in 8-3A play.
