MARTHA L. WATSON

Martha L. Watson passed peacefully with family at her home August 6, 2021 She was 87 and was preceded in death by her husband Dan Watson, son Billy Watson, her parents Richard and Oleta Ogburn and a brother, Jimmy Ogburn. She is survived by her daughters Susan Ferguson and Cheryl Musticchi, a sister and brother in law Pat and Dot Lewis and a brother, Ralph Ogburn.

She was “Mammaw” to Wade Davis, Crystal Hogg, Trent Musticchi, Kelli Kegley, Lance Ferguson, Cameron Davis, Ian and Chloe Hogg, Sydney and Aiden Musticchi, and Connor, Cade, and Camille Kegley.

She was “Nanny” to her sister, Dot’s children and Grandchild­ren. “Nanny’s” kids were Lori Moeller, Tony Lewis, and their children John Moeller, Madison Moeller, and Caroline Moeller, David Brown, Danielle Cantrell, and Patrick Lewis.

Martha was one of the first females in Arkansas to become a Post Master. She truly enjoyed her job and her customers She retired at 73 after serving years 38 years as a loyal and dedicated employee.

She was a talented seamstress. She mailed Susan’s clothes to her while she was in college. Susan said it was such a joy to get those packages. She designed and made Cheryl’s wedding dress and numerous children’s clothing. She was a hard worker who served as a great role model to the youth as a 4-H club leader and vacation Bible School teacher. She placed a lot of importance in serving as an advocate for children living at the Children’s Home and those attending Church camp.

Services will be held at Silver Hill Methodist Church on August 14, 2021, at 11 am with Kent Jobe, Minister, officiatin­g. Given the increased Covid numbers and risk, the family wishes to express their sincere support for each person’s preference for attending the service or not. Masks and hand sanitizing will be available and required. However, the family feels strongly that each person should act within their personal comfort level for safety.
