Public Service Committee to meet

The Union County Quorum Court’s Public Service Committee will meet today at 1 p.m. in the third-floor conference room at the county courthouse.

Elder law workshop scheduled

Reagan-Rockefelle­r dinner tonight

The Union County Republican Committee’s annual Reagan-Rockefelle­r fundraiser banquet is scheduled for this evening.

A meet the candidate reception will be held at 5 p.m., where attendees will have the opportunit­y to meet Republican candidates for Arkansas offices including Jake Bequette (U.S.Senate candidate); Trent Garner (state Senate candidate); Leon Jones, Jr. (Arkansas Attorney General candidate); Dennis Milligan (state Auditor candidate); Charles Beckham (state senate candidate); Judge David Graham (Circuit Judge Division 1 candidate); Tommy Land (state Land Commission­er candidate); Sonia Barker (state Representa­tive candidate); Judge Joseph Woods (state Lt. Governor candidate); Mandy Fudge (Union County Clerk candidate); Karen Scott (Union County Tax Collector candidate); and Paul Choate (Mayor of El Dorado candidate).

The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Speaker of the House Matthew Shepherd will emcee the event, and guest speakers including Gov. Asa Hutchinson (keynote); Jonelle Fulmer, chairman of the Republican Party of Arkansas; Pastor Iverson Jackson, chairman of the African-American coalition of the RPA; and Col. Nate Todd, Arkansas Secretary of Veterans Affairs are on the schedule.
