Plenty to celebrate
Let the celebration continue! The El Dorado Wildcats brought home the 6A State Championship on Saturday! We are the CHAMPIONS! There are so many reasons to celebrate!
Over the last couple of weeks some have overlooked reasons to celebrate and focused on conflict and confusion instead. We live in a time where bad news travels much quicker than good news. That brings to mind a song by Anne Murray, “A Little Good News” from the 80’s.
Why is it so easy to spread confusion? Why are we so eager to spread bad news? Since being in this position I have had the opportunity to share the truth concerning situations where part of the truth has been twisted into a lie. Many times I have been surprised by sources and how the distorted lie is more appealing than the truth.
El Dorado is a great city, but it’s not perfect. It’s easy to focus on the imperfections, but it’s more productive to work on improvements. Being productive requires dealing with the truth about matters and being a part of the process in reaching a solution.
My position is not one of ultimate power as some may think; it is one of responsibility and service. I do not control most aspects of the functionality of this city, however many hold me responsible. Since truth is good news, I make it a point to educate while doing all I can in every situation.
This city is filled with champions and so many reasons to celebrate! We are in the season of celebrating the “good news” personified! Jesus is the reason for this and every season! May we know the truth, share the truth and serve in truth!
