BETTY F. BRIGHT

Betty F. Bright, age 83, of Smackover, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

She was born July 15, 1939, to Ruel Waller Sales Sr. and Opal Mae Rushton Sales of Louann, AR. She married Mina Rudolph “Rudy” Bright December 16, 1960. She retired from National Bank of Commerce as a loan teller of 23 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Smackover. She loved her church family and cherished her time in her Sunday School class, Joy Club, eating catfish, playing Bingo, and being near Miss Cora Mae. She also enjoyed being a mom, granmaw and great granmaw. She loved spending hours putting together story and photo albums about each family member to assure special memories were passed down and never forgotten.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers D.V. Sales, Melvin Sales and Ruel Sales Jr., two sisters Alice Young and Patricia Coker, one grandson Conner Burchfield.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years Rudy Bright Sr., one son Rudy Bright Jr. (Cherie), one daughter Dana Bright Burchfield, five grandchildren Zach Burchfield (Tania), Evan Burchfield, Brady Burchfield, Dean Bright and Daisy Bright, and one great grandchild, Ellie Burchfield.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Young’s Funeral Directors Chapel with graveside services following at Smackover Cemetery with Brother Carly Davis officiating.
