Mary Lou Bennett Jennings age 83 of Strong, AR passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. Arrangemen­ts are pending at this time and will be announced by Bailey Funeral Home.

CATHERINE “SUE” WHIDDON

Catherine “Sue” Whiddon, 74, passed away at the John R. Williamson Hospice House, Saturday, March 4, 2023, in El Dorado, Arkansas.

Arrangemen­ts will be under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

OBITUARIES CECILIA “BOOTCY” BROCK

Cecilia was born December 13, 1990, in El Dorado, AR, to Anthony and Stacy Dawson Brock. She was the youngest of four children in this union.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparen­ts, Clovis and Mary Boone Dawson, and paternal grandparen­ts, Robert and Judy Watson Brock.

She leaves to cherish her memories her two sons Paiden Singleton of El Dorado, AR, and Dawson Hergaly of Washington, DC. Her parents Stacy Brock of El Dorado, AR, and Anthony (Keitha) of Little Rock, AR; one sister Britney Brock of El Dorado, AR; brothers Byron (Yneka) Brock of El Dorado, AR, and Damien Owens of Rockwell, TX, Six Nephews Quiston Fairley, ZaKyron Brock, LaDanien Johnson, A.J. Brock, Damarien Owens, Collin Brock, Paternal Grandmothe­r Virginia Brock, five nieces Zyron Brock, CyMerria Perry, Araya Brock, Lyric Owens, Khennedi Malone, and Jeanasia Richmond, Uncle Paw Paw Lorenzo Dawson, and brother- in -Love Clifton Smith. A host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends.

JEANIE RABORN BROWN

Jeanie Raborn Brown, 83, of Junction City, AR passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanie was born April 30, 1939 in El Dorado, AR to the union of Jessie M. Raborn and Emilee Brazzel Raborn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Evelyn Norris.

Jeanie enjoyed spending time with her family, watching tv, and eating out. She especially enjoyed “Keith Coffee” and time spent getting her hair done by her favorite hairdresse­r Toby Russell.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie Lowery, Terri McKinzie and husband Keith, four grandchild­ren, Michelle Jones, Jamie McKinzie, Eddie Hardebeck, and Roger AlexanderM­cKinzie and husband Caleb, five great grandchild­ren, Ariel Jones, Lilly Jones, Brody Crotty, Layne Hardebeck, and Aubree Hardebeck, one sister, Reita Ann McBroom, and one brother, Jerry Raborn and wife Joyce, and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, friends and special friend, Dorothy Strickland.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Bethel Cemetery Lillie, LA

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Melvin Brown officiatin­g. Interment to follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR.

MATTIE LOUISE “GRANNY” WOLFE

Mattie Louise “Granny” Wolfe, 94, of El Dorado, formerly of Banks, AR left her earthly home March 2, 2023 in El Dorado.

She was born November 22, 1928, to James Emmett Case and Goldie Myrtle Dean Case in Arkadelphi­a. She was a member of Banks Missionary Baptist Church. Granny was the vibrant, loving, matriarch of the family, married to the love of her life, Robert “Red” Wolfe for 73 years. She was a devoted wife and mother, not only to her son, but to her two granddaugh­ters, and a nephew. Over the years, Louise reached out and touched almost everyone in the community as the local Avon lady. Her expert advice was “The redder the better” for both lipstick and nail polish, and she always felt most beautiful in pink. For this reason, we will wear color to her Celebratio­n of Life. Never one to let someone go hungry, Granny and Popa were known for distributi­ng items from their kitchen and garden. Her cooking brought friends and family comfort over the years, especially her deer steak, tomato gravy and hushpuppie­s.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two siblings, James and Grady Case.

Survivors are her only son, Bobby Lee Wolfe of Banks; two granddaugh­ters, Netasha Williamson and husband, Vance of El Dorado and Tonia Crow and husband, John, of Fayettevil­le; six great-grandchild­ren, Hunter Carmical, Garrett Williamson, Greenlee Crow, Alexandra Williamson, Emmalee Crow, and Sara Cervantes; a nephew Gary Case, and his children Brian Case and Christy Cathey.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Frazer’s Funeral Home in Warren. Graveside service will be 2:30pm at Williams Cemetery in Banks. In celebratio­n of Granny’s life, wear a color that make you look as great as she made our hearts feel.

JO ANN HUGHES

Jo Ann Hughes, 72 of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday February 22, 2023 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.

Born October 3, 1950 in Bastrop, Louisiana the daughter of Dewey Lee and Doris Redick Goynes who preceded her in death. A one time employee of State Farm Insurance in Monroe, La she was now a homemaker. Jo Ann was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she taught in the 2-3 year old Sunday School Department for over 30 years. Jo Ann and Ada Mahan founded the monthly Ladies Luncheon at Immanuel to serve the entire community.

Survivors include her husband Tommy Hughes, a brother Jimmy Goynes (Diane) of Farmervill­e LA and sister, Barbara Thompson of Dallas, Texas along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Immanuel Baptist Church with memorial services to begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Clark Whitney officiatin­g. Cremation services entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made to Operation Christmas Child or Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 3209 West Hillsboro Street, El Dorado, AR 71730.

THETTA SUE BEASLEY WOMACK CARELOCK

Thetta Sue Beasley Womack Carelock went to be with her savior February 6, 2023. She had been a resident of Oak Ridge Nursing and Rehabilita­tion for the past few years.

She was born October 22, 1934, in Locust Bayou, Arkansas, to Marion J. Beasley and Bertha Riggs Beasley.

She graduated from Camden High School. Went on to live a wonderful life for 88 years. She was a long-time member of Liberty Methodist Church in Liberty, Arkansas. Sue was blessed with an extraordin­ary marriage for 23 years to W.C. Jabo Womack, and then found love again with A. M. Buster Carelock of El Dorado, Arkansas.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jabo Womack and husband A.M. Carelock.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory four children Fred Riley, Lisa Hartsfield, David Riley and Libbie Womack Jorn, 11 grandchild­ren and 16 great grandchild­ren.

A memorial service will be held at Liberty Methodist Church Friday March 3, 2023 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Liberty Methodist Church.

ESTHERIE PARKER

Estherie Parker, 92, of Calion, AR passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Timberlane Health and Rehab.

Estherie was born June 18, 1930 in Huttig, AR to the union of Floyd Johnson and Lela McGowen Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Henry Parker, three sons, Charles Parker, Rodney Parker, Conway Parker, five sisters, and three brothers.

Estherie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Calion and was a former employee of Conagra.

Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Holmes and husband Tom, Ann Parker, Elaine Parker Adcock and husband Eddie, three sons, John Parker and wife Janet, Roger Parker and wife Marilyn, Scottie Parker, ten grandchild­ren and ten great grandchild­ren, one sister, Melba Jean Henley and husband Charles and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2023 at Bailey Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, March 3, 2023 at Bethel Primitive Cemetery in Calion with Rev. Mark Staples officiatin­g. Interment to follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado, AR
