Local students recognized for academic achievemen­t in higher ed

Local students have been recognized by their colleges and universiti­es for their academic achievemen­t in the fall 2022 semester. Several students also graduated late last year, and earned scholarshi­ps.

SAU TECH

Students named to SAU Tech’s Chancellor’s List had to register for at least 12 college-level credit hours and maintain a 4.0 grade point average. Students who made the Chancellor’s List in the fall 2022 semester include:

UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS AT LITTLE ROCK

One local student was named to the UALR Chancellor’s List, which requires completing nine credit hours and finishing the semester with a 3.9 GPA or higher.

Sidney Gonzalez, of El Dorado, was the only local UALR student to achieve the distinctio­n last semester.

Several local students, meanwhile, made it on the Dean’s List, which requires nine credit hours and at least a 3.5 GPA. They were:

- Autumn Austin of El Dorado - Alex Boone of El Dorado - Keylee Nixon of El Dorado - Tomijah Smith of El Dorado Also, two local students completed their degrees at UALR last semester. They were:

HARDING UNIVERSITY

More than 1,200 students at Harding were named to the fall 2022 Dean’s List, which requires at least 12 credit hours and a 3.65 GPA or higher. Two local students earned the designatio­n:

- Derek Jobe, of El Dorado, a senior studying sport and recreation management

- Maddie Fields, of El Dorado, a senior studying social work

Several other local students graduated from Harding last semester, including:

- Jessica Lindquist of El Dorado, who received a Master of Science in physician assistant studies.

UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS

Fourteen students made the Dean’s List at the University of Arkansas’s Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, which reqires at least 12 credit hours and a 3.75 GPA. MISSISSIPP­I STATE UNIVERSITY

Autumn Parker, of El Dorado, was named to MSU’s President’s List in fall 2022. The distinctio­n requires that student complete at least 12 credit hours and maintain at least a 3.80 GPA.

Also, Caitlin Hines of El Dorado was among nearly 1,500 students who graduated MSU in fall 2022. She earned a Bachelor of Science from MSU’s College of Forest Resources.

MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY

Local scholar Alexis Harbour of El Dorado was among more than 5,920 Middle Tennessee State University students recognized on the latest dean’s list for their academic achievemen­ts for the fall 2022 semester. To qualify for this distinctio­n, an undergradu­ate student had to maintain a current semester grade-point average of 3.5 or above and earn at least 12 semester hours.

Harbour is currently majoring in Animation at the Murfreesbo­ro university.
