Lady Trojans pick up road win; Smackover, Junction City fall

DOWNSVILLE, La. - It wasn’t a pretty no-hitter but Parkers Chapel will take it. The Lady Trojans beat Downsville 7-3 in non-conference action Monday.

According to a Game Changer report, PC’s Kallie Martin tossed a seven-inning no-hitter, allowing three runs on seven walks, two hit batters and two errors with four strikeouts.

Downsville’s Emma Boggs gave up three hits with five walks and two hit batters. The Lady Demons committed six errors.

Downsville scored two in the first before the Lady Trojans answered with a run in the third and three in both the fourth and fifth innings.

Bella Frisby singled, stole second, was sacrificed to third and scored on a passed ball in the third.

A hit batter and two errors scored a pair of runs in the fourth with Martin adding a RBI single. Three errors and two walks led to the three runs in the fifth.

Martin went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Rison 7, Junction City 5

JUNCTION CITY - Rison scored five runs in the fourth inning and held on to beat the Lady Dragons on Monday. Junction City slipped to 5-2 on the season.

The Lady Dragons led 3-1 after three innings. In the top of the fourth, the Lady Wildcats scored five runs on four hits, including RBI singles by Elissa Sumner and Audrey Potter and a tworun single by Maleah Keaton.

Junction City scored a run in the bottom of the fourth on a double by Valarie Kidwell and a single by Pauleshia Bolton.

Rison scored a run in the sixth to lead 7-4. Allie Thurmon drilled a solo homer to right field in the seventh for the final margin.
