Thank you from the Heart

I would like to take the time to say Thank You to all of the wonderful people that made up such a wonderful team on August 5th, to help sponsor the 10th Annual Sharion Bailey Whitlock

From Court to Class, held at the Mattock Park in the Pavilion Area and Park Area. I would like to first thank God, The Bailey Family, Sugartown Riders El Dorado Chapter, all Volunteers, Set Up Committee, Kitchen Committee, Beauticati­on Committee, Griller-David Taylor, All of your burgers hot dogs and smoked links were DELICIOUS!! Backpack Stuffers, you can out in the heat for the children and didn’t leave until all children had their backpack and the tools inside for a successful education. I thank each one of you from the bottom of my heart.

Dear Editors,

I am writing this letter to share the results of the library system’s summer reading program All Together Now. This year was an effective summer reading program, due to the participan­ts, the impact, and the county-wide reach. We offered 42 well attended programs across all six branches, which attracted over 1,300 participan­ts. Over the seven weeks of the program, more than 6,000 books were borrowed. In addition we wish to recognize our champions: Pre-K: 1st Place: Wesley King; 2nd Place: Emmy Drew King; 3rd Place: Arka Duvasula. Children’s: 1st Place: Jai Durvasula; 2nd Place: Gwyneth Legg; 3rd Place: Katie Wyn Legg. Teen: 1st Place: Luke Legg; 2nd Place: Elizabeth Legg. Adult: 1st Place: Jamilya Dartion. Thanks to the support of our sponsors, we were able to help hundreds of children and adults throughout the county grow their love of reading this summer!
