Hill pleased with Wildcats' varsity coaching staff
Head coach Chris Hill plans to know what’s going on in each huddle this season for the Wildcats. But he likes the coaching staff and believes each member is more than capable.
Kris Borosvskis will return as the offensive coordinator with Wes Ables back for his second season as defensive coordinator. Alex Townsend will be the special teams coordinator.
“We’ve got all those guys with their assignments and assignments on special teams and all of that. We feel good about our staff,” said Hill. “We’re still a couple short, have a couple positions open on the junior high staff. We weren’t able to get those filled. But I think everybody understands what their assignment is. Everybody understands the expectations. We’ll try to meet and beat those expectations.”
On offense, Hill will coach the quarterbacks. Borosvskis is the offensive line coach with DeAnthony Curtis with the running backs, Adam Theyard outside receivers and Matthew Nash inside receivers.
Defensively. Ables coaches inside linebackers. Darryl Lewis will coach outside linebackers with Jimmy Johnson on the defensive line, Townsend with the safeties and Greg Roberson with the cornerbacks.
Hill said he will call the plays on offense.
“Most of my attention will be on the offensive side of the ball,” said Hill. “Me and Coach Ables, I’ll have a hand in through him with our defensive staff. It all comes back on one person so I want to be sure we’re comfortable with what’s going on in every phase of the game. I’ll also have my hand in special teams with Coach Townsend.”
