Betty Baker Perdue, age 93, of El Dorado, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Timberlane Health and Rehabilita­tion.

Betty was born in El Dorado, AR. on August 18, 1930, the daughter of Ralph and Alpha Morgan Baker. Betty retired from Sears as a department manager. She was a member of Hickory Grove Chapel for 47 years.

She was a partner in ministry with her husband Rev. Roy Perdue for over 50 years, as he pastored at

Open Door Bible Church in Bossier

City, LA and Hickory Grove Chapel in El Dorado, and led Bible study classes in various churches and homes.

Betty loved to cook and could feed a busload of people on a moment’s notice without a bit of stress. Most family gatherings included teaching family members how to cook her fabulous cornbread and biscuits.

She also concocted home remedies for anyone who complained of any sort of ailment and watched as we took her medicine. Betty’s stories always included great detail and usually included the phrase “I said all that to say this.” She often assured her family that she loved us, and told us that she was praying for us, and we will forever cherish our memories of her.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Rev. Roy Perdue; a daughter Sharon Perdue Clark; grandchild­ren Emily Perdue and Stephen Perdue; sister, Evelyn Aeschliman; niece Dianne Aeschliman Stephens; sister-in-law Estelle Perdue Craig, and nephew John Craig.

Survivors are sons Timothy Perdue (Gay) of Mountain Home, AR; Paul Perdue of El Dorado; and Danny Perdue (Terry) of Bossier City, LA; grandchild­ren Michael Clark (Laura) of Fayettevil­le, NC; Jeremy Perdue (Christal) of Mountain Home; Michelle Clark of Hot Springs; Christy Clark Wilson (Tom) of El Dorado; Sara Perdue Luna (Chris) of Mountain Home; Jamie Perdue Odom (Kevin) of Bossier City, LA; nephews Thomas Craig of Shreveport, LA; and Richard Aeschliman (Betsy) of Lawrencevi­lle, GA; 11 great-grandchild­ren; and 3 great-great grandchild­ren.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 30, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Young’s. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in Chapel of Young’s with Rev. Truett West officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery near Junction City under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Honoring as pallbearer­s will be Blake Luna, Caleb Perdue, Chris Luna, Jeremy Perdue, Michael Clark, and Tom Wilson.
