JOYCE MARTINDALE DARDEN
Joyce Martindale Darden, age 88, of Urbana, AR passed from this life Saturday, January 13, 2024. She was born November 15, 1935 in Truxno, LA to the late James Elmer and Etta Martindale.
Joyce was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Urbana, AR. She enjoyed working outside in the garden and tending to her flowers. You could often find her at home cooking. Her daughter Cindy recalled that she would move the furniture every week to keep her home tidy and clean.
She was well loved and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-eight years Junior Darden; one son Harold Darden; three sisters Louise Boykin, Mary McLeod, Carolyn Smith; two brothers James Martindale and Wayne Martindale.
Those left to cherish her memory include: one son Steve Darden (Brenda) of El Dorado, AR; one daughter Cindy Webb (J.C.) of El Dorado, AR; five grandchildren Casey Darden (Melonie), Jeremy Darden, Jared Darden, Brian Webb (Whitney), and Brandi Havard (Stephen); five great-grandchildren John David Darden, Caden Webb, Jaci Webb, Logan Havard, and Huston Darden; as well as a host of extended family and friends. Funeral services in her honor will be held at 10:00am Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Perry’s Funeral Chapel, Bro. Evan Martindale officiating, interment immediately following at Urbana Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 5-7:00pm Wednesday evening, January 17, 2024, at the funeral home.
