LADONNA ANNE GRIGGS JONES

LaDonna Anne Griggs Jones of Fredericks­burg, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2023. She was at peace and passed away next to her loving husband of 57 years, Earle Walter Jones, Jr.

LaDonna was born in Ruston, Louisiana on June 25, 1941.

LaDonna was the wonderful mother to her sons, Steven (Krystal), and Alan (Andrea; and grandmothe­r to Kathleen, Kevin, Samantha, Carol, Christophe­r, Ethan, and Aaron.

LaDonna is also survived by her husband and grandchild­ren and her brothers Arvis Griggs (Martha) of Fort Myers, Florida, and Ronald Griggs (Rhuye) of El Dorado, Arkansas.

LaDonna was preceded in death by her parents, Guy P. Griggs, Sr. and Mollie Margaret Griggs of El Dorado, Arkansas; sister, Evelyn Leonard of LittleRock, Arkansas; sister, Quida Evans of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Myrna Griggs of El Dorado, Arkansas, and brother, Guy P. Griggs, Jr. Of Warrensbur­g, Missouri.

She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1959, and Columbia Bible College at Columbia, South Carolina. Always the educator, LaDonna dedicated her life to teaching her students, sons, and grandchild­ren. She mostly taught in Christian schools in Pensacola, Florida; Sasebo, Japan; Shreveport, Louisiana; and in the Tidewater region of Virginia. She attended Marrable Hill Chapel of El Dorado, Arkansas.

LaDonna loved and worshiped the Lord and is now living in glory with Him. She was buried at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Virginia.

JOHNNY “FAYE” KING

Johnny “Faye” King, 64, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, embarked on her celestial journey on February 5, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Born to the world on a sunny day, July 18, 1959, in El Dorado, Faye was the heartbeat of her home, infusing life and care into every corner.

Faye reunites with her beloved husband, Booker T. King; her parents and brothers, Roger Broadnax, Douglass Broadnax, Randolph Broadnax, and Dewight Broadnax; sisters, Vanessa Broadnax, Angela Broadnax, who have passed before her.

Her legacy lives on through her son Alexander Miller and his wife Shetai of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, her nine grandchild­ren, eight great-grandchild­ren, and a constellat­ion of siblings: Edward Robinson, John Powell, Rodney Powell, Glenda Broadnax, Monica Henry, Jacqueline Powell, and LaVaughn Murphy. Faye’s life was a vivid tapestry of love, laughter, and kindness. Her spirit, as bright and enduring as her favorite jewels, will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her.

CLOIS RAY MOODY, SR.

Clois Ray Moody Sr. was born January 11, 1954, in Magnolia, AR, to the late Ernest Lee Wyrick and the late Dolly Turner Moody.

Clois Ray is preceded in death by one on Clois Ray Moody Jr.

He was married to Carla Day Moody, whom he leaves to cherish his memories, along with four children: Mario Moody (Germaine); Crystal Raye Moody Green (Marquise); Ephrom Ray Moody; Arionne Lynette Moody Gaines. Siblings Toni A. Moody Ward and James Winston Moody. A bonus Mom, Virginia Wyrick, Two nieces, Shemekia Jackson and Brittney Minor (Patrick), and two great-nieces, Gabrielle Hart and Skylar Minor. Two great nephews, Dell’carrio Jackson and Rodney Hart, Jr, both; One great niece, Rylynn Foster; Eight grandchild­ren, A’Sean Harris, Tyray Harris, Kyra Green, Clois Ray Moody III, Rayden Moody, Marquise Green, Amelia Gaines, and Christian Moody. He also leaves a host of extended cousins, friends, associates, and one special friend, Shunda Washington.

Public Visitation Friday, February 16, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00p.m. at Sims Mortuary. Funeral Service Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Paradise Baptist Church.
