Lady Dragons knock down Ouachita 19-0

DONALDSON - Junction City threw an abbreviate­d no-hitter on Friday, beating Ouachita 19-0 in three innings. The Lady Dragons improved to 2-1 in league play.

Karla Castillo gave up one walk with one strikeout in three innings for Junction City, which pounded out 11 hits in three at-bats. The Lady Dragons scored three in the first before igniting for 10 runs in the second and six in the third.

Castillo, Emilee Bovee and Zamya Cunningham each drove in three runs and had two hits apiece. Valarie Kidwell was 2-for3 and Makayla Knight had two hits, including a triple and three RBI. Bovee had a two-run single in the third.

White Hall 16, El Dorado 7

White Hall exploded for eight runs on nine hits in the second inning and beat El Dorado 16-7 Friday in 5A South softball at the El Dorado/Union County Recreation Complex. The Lady Wildcats fell to 4-7 overall and 3-6 in league play.

El Dorado showed some resiliency in the bottom of the third inning, sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring five runs. Delaney Loyd started the rally with an infield single, followed by three consecutiv­e singles by Jaelynn Dumas, Ava Whisnant and Kaycee Otwell and a big two-RBI double by Hollis Smith.

Ava Whisnant tripled down the right field line in the fourth inning and scored on a passed ball. Stella Martinez, pinch running for Otwell who had singled, scored on a single by Alysa Wilson.

White Hall had 18 hits with Taylor Irvin homering twice and driving in eight while going 5-for5. Kyndall Reed added a two-run homer.

Otwell went 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead El Dorado, which will travel to Benton on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats’ game against Smackover next week has been postponed.

Woodlawn 11, Parkers Chapel 4

PARKERS CHAPEL Sarah McWhorter struck out 12 batters in 5 2/3 innings Friday to lead the Lady Bears past Parkers Chapel 11-4. The Lady Trojans fell to 3-5, 1-2 while Woodlawn ran its record to 13-4, 3-0.

Parkers Chapel took the lead with a run in the third on a single by Brookelynn Porter and a double by Madison Arnold.

Woodlawn answered with seven in the top of the fourth. Kendall Tooke hit a bases-loaded triple and Jaci Hoyt added a two-run double.

For the Lady Trojans, Makenzie Morgan singled and scored in the bottom of the fourth. Bella Frisby doubled and scored on a hit by Krista Rivers in the seventh.

The Lady Trojans had six hits with Morgan going 2-for-3.

Carlee Cater pitched 4 1/3 innings for PC, allowing eight runs on eight hits with five walks. McKenzie Norris threw 2 2/3 innings, giving up three runs on four hits.
