-

Billy Frank “Pop” Harris, age 62, passed from this life Friday, April 12, 2024, in Little Rock, AR surrounded by family. Billy was born March 19, 1962 in Soso, MS to the late Rosie and Janette Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Joyce Ann Harris; and one grandson Mason Robert Harris. As a young man he traveled the country for work drilling core samples and gathering seismograph readings. Billy was a member of Maverick Cowboy Church. He was probably the best cowboy in this part of the country and would take the time to teach anyone about horses from young and old. He had a heart that was big as a barn. Billy knew how to light up a room and everybody loved him. He was a devoted Christian and his daughter Liberty recalled their baptisms together on Father’s Day 2009. In 2023 he opened his own business Billy Harris Performance Horses, LLC and pursued his passion of training horses fulltime. In November 2023 he suffered a tragic horse accident. He never questioned God or asked why? He just stood in faith with an amazing testimony of Gods blessings on his life and legacy. He had a mule named Frances that he expertly trained and could win any competition and became world renowned. He was a true old cowboy. Those left to cherish his memory include: his loving wife of thirty-one years, Cindy Smalley Harris; children Jamie Harris; Timothy Harris and his wife Kim; Jennifer Binder and her husband James; Liberty Williams and her husband Michael; and his pride and joys Braelyn Bradley, Braxton Barnes, and Bryson Barnes; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister Betty Manning; mother-in-law Bertha Watts; as well as host of extended family and friends. Funeral services in his honor will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at First Baptist Church of Parkers Chapel, Pastor Chad White and Pastor Larry Hudson co-officiating, internment following at Strong Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 5-7:00 PM Monday, April 15, 2024, at the church.
