Victoria “Vicky” G. Gomez

EL PASO - Vicky passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 10, 2023, at 92 years old. Vicky was born January 20, 1931 and was a life-long resident of El Paso, Texas.

Vicky was simply a thoughtful, wonderful and amazing woman. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Vicky was a 1949 graduate of Bowie H. S. and a founding member of the Bowie H. S. 49ers. Vicky had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. She had a special gift and love for all animals, especially cats.

She was an amazing cook with a very charismatic sense of humor, captivating the hearts of everyone who met her. Vicky loved music and was an exceptional and passionate dancer; igniting a special chemistry on the dance floor that would inspire others.

Vicky was preceded in death by her husband Joe, and is survived by daughter Rita Rubio ( Jerry), sons Richard (Martha), Jaime (Holly) and Daniel Gomez. Grandchildren Natalie, Adelina, Benjamin, Teresa, Florlinda, Monica, Ricardo, Gabriel, Vincent, Marina, Gabriella, Jaime Jr., 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:00 PM, Thursday, November 30, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:45 AM, Friday, December 1, 2023 at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 401 S. Park St. Interment will follow at 11:00 AM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson.
