Norma Lee Jordan

EL PASO - Norma Jean (Vines) Jordan, 97 passed away on November 13, 2023, in Canton, TX.

The visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home East – 1460 George Dieter Dr., El Paso, TX 79936 Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 5:00 – 6:00 pm followed by the Rosary at 6:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills Blvd., El Paso, TX 79936 on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 @ 1:00 pm. Father Cesar, St. Mark parish and Father Jesudoss Thomas, St. Therese parish, Canton, TX will concelebrate the Mass.

Norma was born in Decatur, Alabama to William Jesse Vines and Eula Forbes Pepper Vines on September 29, 1926. Norma worked as a telephone operator for Bell South in Louisville, KY., and when her parents moved to El Paso in 1947, Norma transferred to South West Bell Company where she met Dick Jordan at the Valentine Dance.

Norma is preceded in death by her husband Richard Alan (Dick) Jordan of 61 years, and her son Russell James Jordan.

Norma is survived by her remaining seven children, Richard Alan Jordan Jr. (Marcella), Martha Doreen Brown (Greg), Ronald Edward Jordan (Pamela), Roger Dale Jordan, Randal William Jordan (Rose Marie), Judith Gale Ortiz (Erwin), Robert Michael Jordan. 33 Grand Children, 41 Great Grand Children and many Nieces and Nephews.

Immediately following the mass, internment will be at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery @ 2:30 pm

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Good Days - 2611 Internet Blvd. Suite 105, Frisco, TX 75034. Good Days provided financial assistance for many years for Norma’s Macular Degeneration treatments.

Norma’s family also wished to extend our gratitude to: Heart to Heart Hospice Care of Tyler Texas and to Country Place Senior Living, Canton Texas for mother’s daily care.
