‘Christianity Today’ editorial is a miracle
“Christianity Today’s” recent editorial advocating Trump’s removal from office is nothing short of an indispensable miracle and with any luck, if honestly addressed, should end up being recorded historically as an event of biblical significance.
Although most of us have blindly not had even a remote awareness of any need to pray for such a development, fortuitously a fleeting glimpse of the only path to our national salvation has miraculously been provided. Unfortunately such an awareness, even if accepted by the multitude of us who faithfully turn our own lives and thinking over to our respective higher powers may, due of our continuous unflagging support of presidential conduct normally considered despicably immoral, be too late.
It’s extremely disturbing, in fact terrifying, to see us who’ve, in comparison to occupants of other far less fortunate nations, been so blessed, now standing at the edge of a fatal precipice to what is realistically an irrecoverable abdication of the truths that until recently have led to the successful continuance of our great nation.
This latest revelation may reopen the doors to responsible mature thinking, and hopefully, healthy and fair decision making will re-emerge. In other words, optimistically, we might once again stop hiding from reality and the uncomfortable honest evaluations and associated decisions frequently required of each of us, and most importantly face the hard work our fragile democracy’s continuance requires.
Perhaps some will become reacquainted with the monumental importance of maintaining a healthy separation between church and state, or risk losing both.
