Not all experiences at DMV are bad

Many folks diss the DMV here in Chico, but I tend to disagree with them. I renewed my driver license shortly ago. I’d had a five year, so now I was going to get the Real ID.

I went online and filled out the forms. I gathered the required documents. I did not make an appointment, as I’d heard what a nightmare that was! “Gak! Three months! Dragons!” Did not want that. So I just dropped in before the next door chickens had even begun to discuss about who was going to make the coffee.

In and out in 28 minutes. Every worker there was totally on target, polite, and efficient — my picture is some old guy, though. And the lass in the window next to mine spoke such delectable Spanish that I had to stop on the way home and have Huevos Rancheros at El Rey Mexican Grill.

My new Real ID came in the mail on my birthday. I’ll report again in five years.
