PV girls soccer shuts out Enterprise

The Pleasant Valley High girls soccer team shut out Enterprise 5-0 Wednesday night in Redding.

Anna Converse, Ashlin Stevens, Jillian Weber, Rylee Jellison and Hannah Sillers each scored a goal for the Vikings.

Weber also recorded three assists while Faylinn Berkowitz and Mallorie Barteua each added an assist.

Goalkeeper Annika Gnesda grabbed three saves in the shutout.

PV head coach Eric Snedeker credited Converse for a strong game after she tallied six shots on goal.

PV (7-6-3, 3-1 Eastern Athletic League) hosts Shasta at 6 p.m. Friday.

Prep Boys Soccer

OROVILLE 3, PARADISE 1 >> Luishikhen­g Her, Ritter Steinmann and Jonathan Chue each netted a goal for the Tigers on the road.

Chuyee Vang tallied two assists and keeper Andrew Vang grabbed seven saves.

Oroville (3-7-1, 1-2 Westside League) plays at Sutter at 3:15 p.m. Thursday.

CHICO 69, ENTERPRISE 12 >> The Panthers won their dual meet at home behind five pins.

Rieker Pineda, in the 134-pound bout, pinned Enterprise's Calvin Doyle in 38 seconds. Joe Lor followed that with a pin in 22 seconds over Paoge Vang in the 140 bout.

Gavin Smith (115), David Rudkin (122) and Michael Bartos (162) all won by fall.

Liam Sehorn captured the 128 division with a 7-4 decision over Brayden Flores.

Julian Quintana (108), Kaleb Casey (147), Josh Amatuccio (154), Zach Plants (172), Butch Shankles (222) and Jacob Folwer (287) each received forfeits.

Chico (10-2, 3-0 EAL) competes at the state duals Saturday at Clovis North High School. FOOTHILL 45, PLEASANT VALLEY 42 >> CJ Miller, competing at 115 pounds, won by pin for the Vikings and Gustabo Ramriez won by pin at 152.

Pouya Zakeri (122), Logan Crosby (128) and Cruz Jauregui (285) each received forfeits.

PV will next take on Shasta at 6 p.m. Jan. 29 in Redding.

EAST NICOLAUS 55, HAMILTON 47 >> Jared Strong led the Braves with 21 points and Manny Rios added 10 in the home loss.

Hamilton (7-10, 0-2 MidValley League) hosts Durham at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
