Annual Seed Swap scheduled Saturday
The 11th annual Seed Swap will be held Saturday, Jan. 25 at Trinity Methodist Church, 285 E. Fifth St., and everyone is welcome to participate, whether they contribute items or not. There is, however, a need this year for more donated items as some previous sources will no longer be supplying seeds.
The event will feature a special early opening “home grown seed share” session, 11:30 a.m.-noon, for Camp Fire gardeners and folks who have homegrown seed to share faceto-face with others. The main seed swap, potluck style, will be open from noon to 2 p.m.
Items to bring for sharing may include seeds, bulbs, plants, cuttings, scions, garden produce and work tools to share (label these items). Those who donate items should label their contributions, i.e. what kind of seeds, etc., if they are not in identified packs. All who attend should also bring their own envelopes to identify items they take if not prepackaged, pens or pencils for labeling and bags for plant divisions, cuttings and scions.
