United Way Color run set to take place in April

United Way of Northern California (UWNC) will be hosting an inaugural “Spring into Color” 5K Run/Walk fundraiser on Saturday, April 4, 2020. According to a press release, the fundraiser will be during the Feather River Recreation & Park District’s 12th Annual Wildflower and Nature Festival at Riverbend Park in Oroville.

Camp & Carr Fire disaster relief and recovery School supplies to low-income students Youth programs Covered California enrollment Opioid awareness & education Free tax preparatio­n and greater refunds through our VITA program Grants to other agencies that fall under our mission

Organizers strongly encourage pre-registrati­on and those who do so before March will get a discount price. Adults who sign up early will pay a $25 fee.students 6-17 are $15 and kids five and under are free. Volunteers will shower runners/walkers with non-toxic color powder at several stations throughout the race. Paid registrant­s get event T-shirts and should come prepared for the rest of their clothing to be blasted with color! A limited amount of additional shirts will be available for purchase at the event. Checkin begins at 9 a.m. and the race starts at 10 a.m. Participan­ts can also visit the Wildflower & Nature Festival after the race. It will include vendor booths, children’s crafts, and games, food truck alley and entertainm­ent.
