Caper Acres has reopened
Caper Acres playground in the One-Mile Recreation Area of Bidwell Park reopened at 9 a.m. Thursday, returning to its regular schedule of Tuesdays through Sundays.
Playgrounds and other outdoor recreational facilities in California were closed in March under the state’s COVID-19 guidelines. Last week, Gov. Gavin Newsom and the California Department of Public Health announced playgrounds are allowed to reopen to the public, subject to certain guidelines.
Visitors to outdoor community playgrounds must comply with the following requirements:
Masks will be required for everyone 2 years and older, with caregiver supervision. Visitors will be asked to maintain six feet of distance between individuals from different households. Eating and drinking is not allowed in the playground to ensure masks remain in place.
Visitors are encouraged to wash or sanitize their hands before, during and after their stay. Sanitizer stations have been placed inside the play area.
Visitors are asked to avoid crowds and reduce waiting-in-line time, and limit visits to 30 minutes to avoid crowding.
Reservations for the Caper Acres birthday rings or other park reservations will not be accepted at this time due to COVID-19 group gathering restrictions, according to the city.
