By the numbers (through Friday)
Butte County: 10,837 confirmed cases (increase of 13 from Thursday), 1,669 probable cases with 23 hospitalized, 169 deaths (increase of two from Thursday). Current tier: purple.
Glenn County: 2,196 confirmed cases (increase of three from Thursday), 519 probable cases with six hospitalized, 23 deaths. Current tier: purple.
Tehama County: 5,118 confirmed cases (no update since Thursday) with three hospitalized, 52 deaths. Current tier: purple.
Vaccinations
In December 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued two emergency use authorizations for a vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in individuals 16 years of age and older, allowing the PfizerBioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines to be distributed. On Feb. 27, the FDA issued a EUA for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, becoming the third vaccine authorized in the U.S.
Local counties are receiving weekly vaccine allocations from the California Department of Public Health and prioritizing vaccinations to their most vulnerable residents by age and sector, including, though not limited to, health care, essential emergency services and education. Numbers below reflect their progress so far.
Butte County: 62,596 doses administered (27,566.2 per 100,000 residents).
Glenn County: 6,038 doses administered (21,643.9 per 100,000 residents).
Tehama County: 10,365 doses administered (16,355.5 per 100,000 residents).

To to set get up at tested the an 900 appointment by Mangrove OptumServe Ave. in Chico, visit https://lhi.care/covidtesting or call 1-888-634-1123. No payment is necessary; your insurance will be billed or, if you have no insurance, the cost is picked up by the state. In addition to the Chico location, Glenn County has an OptumServe site at Orland Memorial Hall, located at 320 Third St. Coronavirus testing also available at Immediate Care in Chico, 376 Vallombrosa Ave., 891-1676; and also at all Ampla locations. The number in Chico is 3424395 and the number in Oroville is 534-7500.
