CAROL MYERS

Carol Lorraine Myers born May 15, 1931 in Portland, Oregon to Stanton and Elverda Lapham, died peacefully at home on March 7, 2021. She lived in Lakeview and Roseburg, Oregon before moving to Chico in 1941 when her father purchased the Ford dealership called Lapham Motors.

She graduated from College Elementary in 1944, Chico High in 1948, attended University of Oregon, then graduated from Chico State in 1953.

She moved to San Francisco and worked at Emporium-Capwell. There she met and married John Stanley Myers in 1953, living in Saratoga and Atascadero before moving to Chico in 1966 when they bought John Myers Cadillac, Pontiac and GMC on the Esplanade. Carol was a Real Estate Broker for nearly 50 years and owned Carol Myers Realty. Her hobbies were horseback riding, pet ownership, exercise, reading, her grandchildren and playing bridge, attaining Sapphire Life Master.

Carol did volunteer work for Children’s Home Society, Girl Scouts, LIttle League, Atascadero Zoo, Hooker Oak Elementary School Library, Humane Society, and Park Watch.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband John who passed away i n 1997 and her sister Donna Mathews and is survived by her three children Stan (Sue), Sally Cain(Mike) , Karen Wagner (Jeff) as well as her grandchildren Marcus (Kayla), Cody, Brett, Kyle, Reid, Brad Brooke; and by her great grandchildren, Chloe and Quinn Myers.
