WILLIAM GOULD

-

William Boyd Gould (Bill) was born in Chico, California on September 8, 1949 to Rev. William “Ben” H and Olive Mildred Gould. Billy was the last of four children and his parents and sisters were excited to welcome him into the family.

In 1961 the family moved from Chico to Campbell, California where Billy grew up. He graduated from San Jose State University of California. His first job was working in a warehouse for a paper company. He joined the National Guard and was honorably discharged after four years of service. Bill worked as an engineer with up-andcoming technology companies including 3M and Silicon Graphics. After 20 years Bill moved to Shasta County where he made a major career change and went to work for Shasta County Health and Human Services Agency. There he met the love of his life, Tracy. They made an instant connection. Their friendship became an engagement in February 2008, and they were married three months later, on May 17, in a lovely, outdoor ceremony led by Rev. Eugene Anderson, Katy’s husband. Bill and Tracy had a happy, loving and supportive marriage for nearly 13 years before Bill passed away.

After his father died, Bill took his mother to breakfast every Sunday until her passing. Years later he drove his sister Katy 600 miles every month for optometry appointments to save her vision. Bill was giving, caring, supportive and loving. He had a wonderful sense of humor that he shared freely and spontaneously.

Bill is survived by his wife, Tracy Giovanni; his sisters Kathryn Anderson, Becky Gould, Jean Campbell, and his brother-in-law Bill Campbell; his stepdaughters Adelina Kaye and Isabella Greenleaf; his niece Jody Bryson; his nephew Lance Campbell; his inlaws Barry and Elsie Zanni; and his friends. Bill was a good, kind, fun and loving person. He will be missed by many and remain forever in our hearts.
